Scarborough Lions Club hosted a hugely successful charity promises auction on Saturday 21st March 2026 at Northcliffe Golf Club, raising vital funds for local good causes.
More than 60 guests enjoyed a wonderful evening that included a delicious three-course meal at half time, adding to the warm and celebratory atmosphere of the night.
Over 50 promises, generously donated by local businesses, went under the hammer throughout the evening. The diverse and exciting selection of lots ensured there was something for everyone, with bidding proving lively and competitive. Highlights included vouchers for thrilling speedboat trips around Scarborough Bay, a fascinating behind-the-scenes museum experience, and a private clairvoyant consultation with Dona Bell. Sports enthusiasts were well catered for with tickets to first-class cricket matches, while culture lovers could bid on Open Air Theatre tickets for any show of their choice. Families were delighted by the offer of a North Yorkshire Steam Train family ticket, and a tempting selection of wine and spirit hampers rounded off the impressive array of prizes.
