The Scarborough Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International. A global organisation that spans across more than 200 countries and comprises 1.3 million men and women. With community service as its central focus, the Scarborough Lions Club strives to enhance the lives of individuals and families in need. By organising charity fundraisers, backing health and wellness programs, and offering aid to vulnerable groups, the club’s members collaborate to create a positive impact. Through their fundraising efforts, they provide resources, assist local causes, and contribute to broader humanitarian endeavours.
New Years Day Dip – 2026
You are invited to take part in the 1st January 2026 New Years Day Dip held on the Foreshore beach (next to the lifeboat house) at 12.30pm.
Scarborough Lions charge a Dippers registration fee at £10 single entrant, £18 for a couple, and £30 for a group of three or more, children under 10 years old are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
All sponsorship money collected by the Dippers, will be the responsibility of the Dipper/Dippers, and ensure all monies collected are paid over to their nominated charity.
To be part of Scarborough’s main New Years Day event, please register your interest to aldeacon2004@yahoo.co.uk (Dip Co-ordinator). You will then be sent your unique registration number covering either single, couple or group taking part, plus the bank paying-in details for your registration fee.
On receipt of a fee, your registration number will be recognised, and sponsor forms, timetable plus directions will be sent to you.
